Who Do I Contact Regarding Bikepath Maintenance?
For questions, concerns, and complaints please contact the Engineering Department regarding the non-motorized safety path. All complaints will be logged on a Safety Path Maintenance form. Gravel and brush removal will be completed as soon as possible. Major and minor pathway repairs such as tree root cracks and crumbling pathway will be logged, assessed and ranked. Due to a limited budget, more hazardous issues will be repaired first.

What Can I Do About Standing Water On My Property?
Every situation is different. However, most drainage problems can be alleviated by regrading swales on the property and roadside ditches. Regrading swales may require a grading permit, so you should contact West Bloomfield Engineering Department first at 248-451-4824. For regrading roadside ditches, please contact the Road Commission for Oakland County. A final option is to build a rain garden to absorb any extra rainwater. A grading/soil erosion permit may be required to build a rain garden, so please contact the Engineering Department first.

When Do I Need To Get A Soil Erosion Permit?
If you are disturbing the soil on your property (other than minor gardening), and the disturbed area is within 500 feet of a lake, stream, wetland, or other water course, or the disturbed area is more than 1 acre in size, a soil erosion permit will be required.
